Obituary for Angeline L. Ruhn

Angie passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the United Pioneer Home in Luck, WI with family at her side.
She was born December 13, 1918 to Frank and Bertha Springer, the 7th of 10 children. Angie attended Blaine Grade School, Ascension Catholic School, Franklin Junior High, and Vocational High School in Minneapolis. After high school she waitressed and worked in a factory that made life vests for the Navy during World War II.
In 1937 she married Emery Potvin, and to this union four children were born: Jacqueline in 1938 who died in infancy, Janice in 1939, Ronald in 1941, and Gerald in 1945. After Emery passed away in 1948, she moved to Frederic to be closer to her mother. On March 25, 1950 she married Kenneth L. Ruhn, and to this union two sons were born: Kenneth A. in 1954, and Leyton in 1960, Leyton also died in infancy.
Throughout her life she worked in the customer service field and after retiring continued to volunteer at the Frederic Library well into her 80's. Her passions in life were first and foremost, her family and followed in no particular order: her faith in the Lord, playing cards and board games, patchwork quilts, crocheting, word and jig-saw puzzles, scrabble, snowmobiling, bowling, cutting wood, traveling, fishing, visiting, baking, cooking, reading, and being an active member of St. Dominic Catholic Church for close to 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emery in 1948; her husband, Ken in 2012; children, Jacqueline, Leyton, and Janice; granddaughter, Jeanie; and great-granddaughter, Heather; and seven of her ten siblings.
She is survived by her children, Ronald (Carol) Potvin, Gerald (Gail) Potvin, and Ken (Lois) Ruhn; son-in-law, Russ (Nancy) Jorgenson; her brother, Gerald Springer; sister, Gloria Peterson; eleven grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Rowe Funeral Home in Frederic on Friday, October 3rd from 4 to 7:00 p.m., and the funeral will be held at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Frederic on Saturday, October 4th at 11:00 a.m. with lunch to follow.
