Ardell N. Baldwin, 82, of Luck, WI passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018. He was born May 18, 1935 at the Grantsburg, WI hospital.
He attended Trade Lake Grade School for 8 years. He then attended Grantsburg High School for 2 years, and then changed to Frederic High School for the last 2 years. He worked at Frederic, North Luck and Milltown Dairies while in High School. He worked at Butternut Dairy in Luck in 1954. He married Beverly Laatsch in August, 1956.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army in September 1957 - 25th Infantry Division - 65th Engineering Battalion. He was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii for 2.4 years. He attended basic training at Fort Carson, Colorado and also attended Engineering school at Fort Belvedere, Virginia.
They started their family in 1961. First born was Kelly, next Kim, and then Kevin. Beverly passed away from cancer in 1991. He worked at Land of Lakes until 1957. When he finished serving in the U.S. Army, he worked as a milk plant inspector for 1 year - he was the youngest person ever to work that job. He serviced Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota and drove 67,000 miles the first year. He then left that job and worked with Old Home Foods as their Plant Manager. It was bought out in 1992. He met and married Lois G. Thompson August 26, 1995.
He is preceded in death by wife, Beverly and daughter, Kim Baldwin.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Kelly (Rick) Tricker, Kevin Baldwin; grandchildren, Jessica (Adam) Eichten, Randi (Joshua) Paro, Toni (Bruce) Daniels, Austin Baldwin, Keaton Baldwin; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Reese, Reese, Ricky, Blake, Charlie and Baby Paro; and special friends, Mark and Kris Johnson and family.
Memorial Services will be held at North Valley Lutheran Church with Rev. Maggie Isaacson officiating on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 – visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. followed by the service at 3:00 p.m.
