Obituary for Arvid A. Pearson
Arvid Axel Pearson of Siren, WI passed away on July 18, 2016.
Arvid was born on April 7, 1927 to Axel and Carrie (Nelson) Pearson. He was raised in the Lewis area and lived most of his life at the home place. He graduated from Frederic High School. He entered the U.S. Army after high school and continued his schooling at Dunwoody.
Arvid met Inez on April 16, 1949 at the Indian Creek Dance Hall. They were married October 17, 1950. To this union 6 children were born.
They moved to Texas where he briefly worked as a carpenter, and then moved to the home place in Lewis and dairy farmed until 1969. He cash cropped the farm and operated a crop spraying business as well as selling insurance for Luck Mutual Insurance and driving school bus until his retirement. They eventually moved to a new home in Lewis. In 2004 they sold their home and moved to Siren where he lived until he entered Frederic Nursing and Rehab in 2013.
He and Inez loved to travel and went on many trips across the U.S. They invited Inez's sister, Marlene and her husband, Dick one year which started an annual adventure.
He leaves to mourn, his 3 sons, James (Verlene) Pearson, Robert (Debbie) Pearson, Lonny (Terri) Pearson; 6 grandchildren, Jessie Pearson, Jodi (Andrew) Vollmuth, Jason (Marceleen) Pearson, Melissa Horozewski, Jessica (Zeb) McInerny, Savanna Pearson; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Nick (Esther) Mangelsen, Henry Jr. (Karen) Mangelsen, Gerald (Pauline) Mangelsen, Marlene Swearingen, Nina (Lawrence) Hines, Donna (Jerry) Hines and Lida Nordquist; nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Inez; brother, Roy and sister, Eileen; 3 infant children, Donald, Patti and Stan Lee; 3 brothers-in-law, Richard Swearingen, Donald Nordquist, Arnold Thompson; sister-in-law, Paula Pearson; niece, Suzie; nephews, Dennis and Gary.
Memorial services will be held at Siren United Methodist Church, Siren, WI on Monday, July 25th with Rev. Tom Cook officiating - visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Music will be provided by pianist, Sue Reno and vocalist, John Bosak.
