Obituary for Arvid W. Christiansen
Arvid W. Christiansen, Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather, age 68 of Luck, WI passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011 at St. Croix Regional Medical Center with his family at his side.
Arvid was born September 7, 1942 in Amery, WI to Walter and Josephine (Swank) Christiansen. He spent his younger life on a farm in Georgetown. After graduating from Unity High School in 1961, he went to the Cities to look for a job, but came back home and worked at the Duncan Yo Yo factory for several years. He loved the country living.
Arvid was in the Army from 1964-1966. He was stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington. When he came home he married JoAnne (Lande) on September 16, 1966. He also said he jumped from the frying pan into the fire.
Arvid worked for Durex, Inc. for many years before he retired. Arvid loved to hunt, fish, and trapshoot. Bowling was another hobby and when he bowled a “300” game, it was a very exciting evening.
Arvid was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, JoAnne; children, Darrin (wife Karla) of St. Cloud, MN, Sarah (husband Chad) Neely of Luck, WI; brother, Jim (wife Selma) of Luck, WI; grandchildren, Paige and Ethan Christiansen and Alexis Neely; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be held at Luck Lutheran Church, Luck, WI on Monday, March 7, 2011 – visitation at 10AM followed by the service at 11AM. Pastor Paul Baardseth will be officiating.
