Obituary for Caroll I. Fischer
Caroll Irene Fischer, of Frederic, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in the Frederic Nursing home on August 24, 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was the second daughter born to Louie and Lucille Fischer on November 18, 1933. She was born in Clam Falls, Wisconsin and spent all of her life in Frederic. She graduated fromFrederic High School in 1951.
Her first job in high school was at the Frederic Telephone Company where she worked until she started her life-time career as a bookkeeper at the Chevy Auto shop in downtown Frederic. She worked there many years until her retirement.
During this time she was a volunteer EMT for 17 years.
Caroll was Volunteer of the Year in Frederic in 1982.
In her free time, Caroll loved to bowl and play golf. Bowling tournaments took her on many trips throughout the United States.
Caroll loved to shop, especially for shoes, and loved to drive convertibles. One of her many hobbies was playing cards of any kind with anyone, especially her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Welsh; parents, Louie and Lucille Fischer; brother-in-law, Robert Weinzierl; and nephew, Bryan Weinzierl.
She is survived by sister, Helen Weinzierl and nieces, Wendy Miller (Bruce) and great-nephews, Cole and Justin of Cleveland, Ohio; Beth Battaglia (Richard) and great-nephews Richie and Nicholas of Ramsey, Minnesota and great-nieces, Alex Weinzierl of Arizona and Rachael Curtis (Jordan) of Minneapolis.
She touched the lives of many and will be missed by many people whose lives she touched.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Frederic on Friday, September 18th – visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by the service at 2:00 p.m.
