Chuck Adleman, age 83, died February 12, 2023 at home in Luck, Wisconsin with friends and family by his side. He was born in 1939 in Minneapolis and grew up in Mounds View.
He graduated from St. Cloud State in 1963 and became a teacher in Mounds View School District for 33 years. After retirement he moved to the land where his Swedish grandparents settled on Bone Lake.
He built a new home here where he enjoyed the outdoor life with friends and family.
He loved to spend summer days sailing, often on the “Sheila Yeates”, on Lake Superior and in his own wooden sailboat on Bone Lake. Each spring Chuck was eager to make maple syrup and share it generously with others. Being at the lake with his children and grandchildren was a big part of his life.
He and his wife Carol were able to travel to renew friendships in England. He was even up for driving through Scotland, Wales, and England.
Chuck was instrumental in getting the new Luck Museum and Library built and established as a source of local history. He was the President of the Luck Area Historical Society for 10 years. Nothing made him happier than seeing folks walk through the Museum. He also worked as a volunteer on the Ice Age Trail, in Polk County, for many years. Chuck was good at fixing anything and wouldn’t dream of not trying.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Carol, daughter Susan (Ron) Burkhalter, daughter-in-law Jennifer Adleman, grandchildren China Eubanks, Graham and Claire Adleman, sister Julie (Karey) Love, and many other caring family members.
He was proceeded in death by his son John and parents Elmer and Nora Adleman.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held later this Spring.
