Obituary for Clifford E. Gustafson
Clifford Edwin Gustafson, 87, resident of Centuria, WI, died Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society in St. Croix Falls, WI.
He was born in Milltown, WI, on December 23, 1925, to Enoch and Lillie Gustafson. He graduated from Milltown High School and farmed for two years before enlisting into the Navy in 1946 where he served in London, England. Upon his return, Clifford continued his love for farming and bought an 80-acre hobby farm between Centuria and Milltown. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Schneewind on June 7, 1951, from which two children were born. He continued to farm, and in 1962 also began working for the Minar Ford Implement dealership in St. Croix Falls, WI. In 1970 Clifford entered into partnership with John Graves and formed G G Implement in Luck, WI, where he worked and sold farm machinery to area farmers until his retirement in 1988. Clifford was an active member of North Valley and Fristad Lutheran Church. He also served on the Milltown Town Board for many years and was involved with the VFW Post 6856 in Milltown.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Enoch and Lillie Gustafson; sisters, Myrna Swanson, Arlene Jensen and Rose Knauber.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie Gustafson; sister, Delores Sandberg; daughter, Martha Gustafson (Frank Greenlee); son, Steve (Debra) Gustafson. He is also survived by grandchildren, Nicole Ordway, Shelly (Paul) Laseki, Christopher Ordway, Jamie Ordway (Jon Asher), Aaron Ordway, Brian (Kristi) Robelia, Steven Gustafson and Gary Gustafson; 8 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Fristad Lutheran Church in Centuria, WI, with Rev. Mel Rau officiating. The family will greet their guests beginning at 10 a.m. Full Military Honors will be presented by VFW Post 6856 immediately following the service. Please plan on staying for lunch at the church. Interment will be at North Valley Cemetery, Milltown, WI. Honorary Pallbearers are Clifford Ince, Steven Gustafson, Trevor Lundeen, Brian Robelia, Gary Gustafson, Frank Greenlee, Erin Ordway and Carl Golz.
