Clifford O. Amundson, 88, of Indian Creek, Wisconsin passed away on February 3rd, 2018 at his home.
Clifford was born April 2nd, 1929 in Deronda, WI to his parents, Oscar and Minnie Amundson. He moved to the Indian Creek area as a boy of two. Clifford grew up on several farms. He worked as a teenager for area farmers. In 1950, he worked for the Frederic Telephone Company.
December of 1950 he entered the U.S. Army. He did basic training at Ft. Hood, Texas and was then stationed at Worms, Germany. He was Honorably Discharged December 5th, 1952.
Clifford married Luella Schmidt on May 16th, 1953. They bought their first farm in 1953 and added to the farm in 1958 where they now live. He enjoyed farming for over 40 years. Clifford was an avid reader, and he also found pleasure in playing baseball, fishing, and deer hunting.
The life they shared together included their three children, Jean, Ann, and Doug. From a father, he proudly moved to grandpa, having five grandkids, Hillary, Adam, Hailey, Megan, and Emily. Later, he even enjoyed being a great-grandpa to Teagan, Nadia, Ellie, and Nora.
Clifford is survived by his wife of 64 years, Luella; children, Jean (Mike) Giller, Ann (Jerry Bistram) Amundson, Doug (Stephanie Coen) Amundson; grandkids, Hillary (John Wiernasz) Giller, Adam (Danielle Neva) Giller, Hailey (Jake) Freedlund, Megan (Jake Collick) Amundson, and Emily Amundson; great-grandkids, Teagan Benson, Nadia Benson, Ellie Freedlund, Nora Giller; sister, Hazel Hoffman; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Florence, Evelyn, Ethel, Inez, and Esther.
Visitation will be held at the Rowe Funeral Home in Frederic on Sunday, February 11th from 2 to 5:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 12th at Clam Falls Lutheran Church - visitation at church will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m.
