Obituary for "Doc" Carol C. Cogswell
Carol C. Cogswell of Luck, WI, passed away February 21, 2009 at St. Croix Regional Medical Center in St Croix Falls, WI, at the age of 88 years. Carol was born February 3, 1921 to Jesse and Laura Cogswell in Hampton, IA. Carol was loved and respected by everyone. He was a loving and wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Family was the most important part of Carol’s life. Not a day went by that he didn’t think of each of his children and want to know and make sure they were all well. He looked forward to his weekly calls from Merritt and Dan. Carol served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1945 and served in WWII on the USS Mobile after graduating from high school in Rochester MN. Carol was very proud of his time serving his country and loved to share his experiences with family and friends. Carol was a businessman in Milltown, WI, and earned an excellent reputation as an auto body man. Carol was always an active man who loved to hunt with his hunting group and fish with Gary Jensen. He was well liked and was a friend to everyone he met. Carol was the type of person who would do anything for anyone and would not want anything in return. He never wanted to “inconvenience” anyone. Carol will be missed by his family and the many friends he made throughout his long and fulfilling life. Carol was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia; step-daughter, Velma; parents, Jesse and Laura Cogswell; brothers, Merritt and Adrian; sisters, Erdene, Eileen and Adeline. Carol is survived by his wife, Clara Mae; children, Merritt (Cheryl), Kim (Karen), Chuck, Gary (Laura), Cindy (Reg), Jeanie (Mark) and Daniel; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. There will be a Memorial Gathering on Thursday, February 26, 2009 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm with Eulogy & Remembrances at 5:00pm at Rowe Funeral Home in Luck, WI. For information call 715-472-2444.
