Obituary for Doris J. Jensen
Doris M. Jensen passed away September 12, 2007 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI at the age of 81. She was born December 16, 1925 to Willard and Maisie (Buetzberger) Jepsen in Johnstown township, Balsam Lake, WI. She attended Blake grade school and graduated from Milltown High School in 1943. She went on to be a nurse and was employed at the Frederic Clinic. On June 18, 1948, she was united in marriage to Arvid Jensen. Together they farmed on the family farm and raised their children there. Arvid passed away in 1993 and she continued to live there until 1996. After that, the farm was sold and she moved to Luck to make her new home on 8th Street Court. She truly enjoyed it there and friends that would gather at her house on a daily basis. Due to health reasons in 2005, she moved to Eau Claire to St. Francis Apartments where she quickly made new friends and truly enjoyed their company. Doris loved to have people stop in and her coffee pot was always quickly turned on. No one ever left her house hungry. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church & WELCA. She loved the Wednesday workshop days where she would help make quilts and embroider dishtowels. She is survived by her son, Robert of Luck and daughter, Karen (Greg) Goike of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Stacy Jensen, Dena (Will) Rogers, Jason Goike, Sarah Goike; brothers, Fred (Eleanor) Jepsen of Turtle Lake, Harry (Betty) Jepsen of North Branch, sister-in-law Florence Fremont of Frederic; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvid, and daughter-in-law, Marie. Funeral services were held at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Luck Township on Saturday, September 15, 2007, with Pastor Mark Hall officiating. Interment will be at a later date at St. Peters Cemetery. Rowe Funeral Home of Luck, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.
