Doris Kainz passed away peacefully on December 20, 2018. She was born October 12th, 1941 in Weston Township, Dunn County, Wisconsin. Doris was the youngest of three born to Art and Sylva Thompson. She graduated from Menomonie High School and was married for 57 years to her husband, Robert. They have two children, Denise and Tony. Her greatest joy were the grandkids: Sam, Molly, Abbey and Matthew. She is also survived by her brother, Don Thompson (and Lola), many nieces and nephews.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Arlo (and Lois) Thompson.
Doris worked as a secretary in the Unity School District for 29 ½ years. Many people knew her as “Mrs. Kainz”. It was amazing how fast she could type and continue to keep track of so many children that wandered through the offices all those years. She liked watching Packers, Nascar and Poker. She played a mean game of Euchre, Cribbage, and dice, and enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino. Over the years she was on bowling leagues, played horse shoes, and could seldom leave a jigsaw puzzle undone.
She had a zest for life, loved to laugh and to see others laugh. She will be missed by her family and friends. Heaven is now a bit brighter.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Rowe Funeral Home in Luck, WI on Saturday, January 5th, 2019. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the service following at 11:00 a.m.
