Dorothy Marie Jorgenson was born to Vies and Minnie (Peterson) Martinsen February 17, 1926 in Sebeka, Minnesota. After the death of her mother, the infant was adopted by her aunt and uncle, Inga and Axel Carlson. Dorothy grew up on a farm near Milltown, Wisconsin. She attended elementary school at Half Moon Lake School. She attended and graduated from Milltown High School in 1944. She attended Milltown Lutheran Church, went to Sunday school and was confirmed in May of 1940. On June 16, 1944 she was united in marriage to Stanley Fred Lind. This union was blessed with four children, Rodney, Larry, Peggy and Stacey. They farmed the Lind family farm in Milltown Township for 23 years.
On December 21, 1970 Dorothy married Mike Jorgenson. They lived between Balsam Lake and Centuria. Dorothy worked for DHIA (Polk Burnett Dairy Herd Improvement Association). Mike died on February 10, 1987.
After her retirement in 1990, Dorothy enjoyed traveling, gardening, needlework, photography, volunteering (Interstate Park and Interfaith Caregivers) and most of all, family.
Robert Voltz became a special friend and travel companion. Together they escaped the Midwest winters by snowbirding in Orange Beach, Alabama.
Preceded in death by husbands, Stanley Lind and Mike Jorgenson; sister, Joyce Batt; and great-grandchild, Branden Green.
Survived by children, Rodney, Larry (Helen), Peggy, and Stacey; nine grandchildren, Stuart, Micheal (Melissa), Joe, Jim (Kristene Boucher), Barb, Christie (Trevor Dougherty), Matt (Meredith), Charle (Danny Osorio), and Jamie; six great-grandchildren, Ava, Max, Anson, Juliette, Liliana, and TJ. Also left to mourn are many nieces, nephews, loving relatives and dear friends.
Visitation will be held at Rowe Funeral Home in Luck, WI on Monday, September 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral… services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Balsam Lake, WI on Tuesday, September 5th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service.
