Obituary for Eileen Margaret Jensen

Eileen M. Jensen was born in Bismarck, N.D., on June 27, 1926, to Nicholas and Regina Finken. Eileen had one brother, Werner Finken. She enjoyed many events in her life - working as a model and tap dancing were a couple highlights in her younger years. Eileen married Gary Jensen in 1957 - together they raised 4 children: Kathy, Daniel, Jonathon & Sue. They owned and operated the Luck-E tavern in Luck for about 5 years; then selling and purchasing the Northern Bar down the street and operating it for 27 years. Eileen had and met many good friends during the years in the bar business. During Eileen's years in Luck she would sew for many people throughout the community, including the Luck High School cheerleaders. She would drive her parents to Arizona so they could spend the winter months in the warm climate, returning home with gifts and stories from Arizona and Mexico. She loved spending time with family, relatives and friends at their lake cabin on Trade Lake - which they enjoyed for many years. Eileen will be remembered for the hugs she gave to many people after her hair appointments; and the fun bus trips to play bingo and slot machines at various casinos. Eileen loved to play golf, although never mastering the game, she enjoyed the outing with friends - laughing while she clicked the number of swings on her swing counter so not to forget the many swings to get to the hole. Fishing in Canada with Gary was another outing she enjoyed, sometimes returning with the bragging rights to the biggest fish. Eileen also enjoyed planting flowers and gardening at her home in Luck - and watching all the pretty song birds returning to the birdhouses she had throughout her yard. Cribbage was a game she played regularly with many friends who would stop by to take the chance of losing a dollar. Eileen was active with the Danish Brotherhood holding positions of secretary, president and treasurer. She was also an avid member of the St. Dominick Church in Frederic where she attended many years. Eileen left us on May 26, 2007, at the age of 80. She will be remembered by all the people she loved during her stay on this earth and by her family, Gary Jensen, Kathy Mara, Daniel Jensen, Jonathon Jensen, Sue (Mike) Radke; 5 grandchildren, Angela Blanski, Dustin Fjorden, Casey Mara, Ashley Fjorden, and Russell Fjorden; 3 great grandchildren, Shawna, Joshua, Jr., and Adrianna. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Regina Finken and brother, Werner. Funeral services will be held at the Rowe Funeral Home in Luck, WI, on Friday, June 1, 2007, at 11:00 AM. Father Dennis Mullen will be officiating.
