Obituary for Elizabeth P. Ruhn

Elizabeth "Liz" Pearl Ruhn died June 17, 2015. She was born in South Dakota on September 25, 1927. She was the eldest of four farm girls. Liz met the love of her life, Edwin "Stub" Ruhn at a dance in Frederic, WI. They were married on August 24, 1946 and had 4 children. They both loved fishing, especially with family and friends.

Liz was very active in the community and church. Her love for Jesus was well known and will be remembered. She was an avid member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and often participated in organ/piano services as well as the choir. She was also a long-time member of the American Legion, where she gained the much esteemed title of "Poppy Queen!"

Liz adored all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them. The Dunham Lake home holds many wonderful memories for both friends and family.

It must be mentioned that Liz was the "Queen" of her kitchen and well known for her fudge, rosettes and world famous spaghetti sauce. She also excelled in bowling, bridge, sewing and painting!

She is preceded in death by her husband, Stub; parents, Anton and Pearl Konvalin; sons, Russell and Larry Ruhn; and siblings, Marcella Norman, Norma Carlson and Julie Lockert.

She is survived by her daughters, Mona Lundquist and Connie Quam; 7 grandchildren, Michelle Chevalier, Nick Johnson, Marcie Chevalier, Deanna Plant, Eugene Ruhn, Janelle Ruhn and Kelli Marlow. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held at the Rowe Funeral Home in Frederic on Monday, June 22, 2015 from 4 to 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Frederic on Tuesday, June 23rd - visitation at church will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Arveda "Freddie" Kirk will be officiating. Music will be provided by Grant Norman, Patti Burns and Kordi Kurkowski.

Liz will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery in Frederic following the service. Pallbearers will be Eugene Ruhn, Nick Johnson, Bruce Carlson, Mike Tighe, Gary Norman, Ken Ruhn and Zach Selbitschka.
