Obituary for Ellis E. Erickson
Ellis Edward Erickson, 92, of Frederic, WI passed away November 20, 2015 at Frederic Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born January 12, 1923 to Edward and Anna Erickson. After attending eight years of grade school, he worked on the family farm in Lorain township with four brothers. He also logged and hauled wood to Cumberland and filled silos with his brothers for many years. He married Lorna Lorraine Ferrian on February 21, 1948 and to this union, two children, a girl, Jeanne, and a boy, Michael were born.
Eventually, Ellis bought the farm and he, Lorna and Michael ran the farm until Lorna and Ellis retired in the early 1990s when Michael and Diana took over.
Ellis enjoyed hunting and dancing for many years. Also, any kinds of card games and spending time at the casino. He enjoyed dinners with family and friends. He and Lorna travelled to Hawaii, Arkansas, Las Vegas, South Dakota and Branson, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers (Vernon, Lloyd, Lester and Wilbur) and five sisters (Dorothy, Gladys, Tressa with two infants dying in childbirth).
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lorna, and his children, Jeanne (Dale) and Michael (Diana); five grandchildren, Lesa (Mark Locken), Tracie (Buck Hanson), Brooke (David Mott), Selena (Jason Frenette) and Hilary (Jacob Ridgeway); six great-grandchildren, Tanner Locken, Kamryn and Logan Mott, Madison Frenette, Hailey and Carter Ridgeway. He also had four step-grandchildren, Mollie and Cole Hanson, and Sara Cox and Brittany Locken.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 27th from 5-7:00 p.m.at the Rowe Funeral Home in Frederic and the funeral is scheduled for Saturday, 11:00 a.m. (preceded by 1 hour visitation) at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Frederic with lunch and burial to follow.
