Eugene "Mike" Karpinski, 73, of Frederic, Wisconsin passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, September 13th, 2018 with his beloved wife, Linda by his side. Mike fought a long battle with emphysema complicated by lung and liver cancer.
He was born on March 1, 1945 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to John and Ruth (Lisinski) Karpinski. He was 1 of 5 children and lived most of his life in Milwaukee until his retirement from Bowne Corporation where he worked as a shift lead and repair technician. In 2011 Mike and Linda fulfilled their dreams and bought a home in Frederic, Wisconsin. They then became members of Trade River Evangelical Free Church where Mike became actively involved in Operation Christmas Child which held a very special place in his heart.
He enjoyed the simple things in life like riding his lawn mower, plowing with his tractor, fixing things, spending time with his family, and making friends everywhere he went.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth Karpinski. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Trick); children, Brenda Wiese, Chuck (Crystle) Minor, Michael Karpinski, Kim (Tony) Zuba, Brian Karpinski, and Amber (Mario) Rangel. He is also survived by his special grandchildren, great-grandchildren and siblings.
A special thanks to all of those who provided love, friendship, and support which carried him through this difficult journey.
Memorial services will be held at Trade River Evangelical Free Church, 20296 State Road 87, Grantsburg, Wisconsin on Saturday, October 6, 2018 - visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by the service at 12:00 p.m. A luncheon will be provided following the service.
