Obituary for Gerald "Bud" R. Wondra Jr.
Gerald Robert Wondra Jr. (Bud) lost his battle with Lewy Body Dementia on August 21, 2014, at the Amery Memory Care, Amery, Wisconsin. Bud was born June 12, 1960 at the Hennepin Medical Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota to Gerald and Eleanor Wondra. He was baptized at Bethel Lutheran Church, St. Paul, Minnesota and confirmed at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Frederic, Wisconsin.
In 1965 the Wondra family moved to Willow Cove Resort in Frederic. Bud attended Frederic High School and graduated in 1978. He was employed at Cemstone for many years until he was unable to work because of his illness. Driving cement truck and hanging out with the guys was something he truly enjoyed. Bud also enjoyed the time spent with family and friends, hunting, fishing and playing golf. He will be remembered for his big heart and his kind spirit. The children in his life brought many hours of joy to him and they will truly miss him as will his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald; grandparents, Joseph and Myrtle Wondra and Andrew and Elizabeth Reinert. Bud is survived by his mother, Eleanor; siblings David (Andrea), Holly (Bob) Route, Todd (Carole), Jay (Patty), Scott (Rose), Mark (Tammy), Paul (Karen); many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews; two Goddaughters; Aunts; an uncle and numerous cousins.
A celebration of Buds life will be held Friday, September 5th at the Frederic Golf Course from 4 to 7:00 p.m. A private burial will take place at a later date.
A special thank you to the entire staff at The Amery Memory Care for the special care they gave Bud and his family during this difficult journey.
