Obituary for Gerald J. Mullner
Gerald John Mullner born April 20, 1938 to John and Anna Mullner in St. Paul, Minnesota. He graduated from St. Agnes High School and attended the University of Minnesota while working for the Burlington Railroad. Jerry married Joyce Starr in 1960. In 1962 he began working for 3M. He started making sandpaper and then Jerry finished his industrial engineering degree. He became an engineer manager and traveled to many 3M plants in the US and Europe. Jerry and Joyce had three daughters and lived in North St. Paul for 40 years. He retired in 1996. They built a new home and moved to Frederic, Wisconsin in 2001 on property they bought in 1971. Oh how he loved his woods.
Jerry loved to make people laugh, always telling jokes and stories. He played the accordion and piano and was always the life of the party. He loved to go to the casino.
After retiring Jerry and Joyce spent two months during the winter on St. Pete Beach in Florida. They always treasured the friendships they made there.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce of 55 years; daughters, Mary Jo, Gail and Deanne (Steve Schaefer); brother, Michael (Cindy); aunt, Marlene Mechelke; many relatives and friends.
Special thanks to Traditions of Frederic and the loving care of the staff, also the wonderful people at St. Croix Hospice who made his wish to come home possible.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Father Tom Thakadipuram officiating. Gathering time will be for 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Jerry wanted to have a party after his death. After the mass at church, there will be a party at The Ridge Eatery just 1/2 mile north of Frederic on Hwy 35, all are invited.
