Gerald "Jake" Edward Jacobson passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the age of 81.
He was born on June 8, 1936 to Gene and Victoria Jacobson of Pine City, Minnesota. He grew up in Pine City and went into the Army in 1958 and served in Germany.
In 1961 he married Nancy Swanson of St. Croix Falls, WI and they were blessed with two girls, Laura and Amy.
Jake graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1973 and they moved to Frederic, Wisconsin where he taught Industrial Education and Drivers Ed. In 1996 he retired from teaching but continued to farm and raise Black Angus cattle. He worked at McNally’s in Grantsburg. In 2015, because of his health he had to ship his cattle, it was a sad day for him.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Jacobson Holt; parents, Gene and Victoria Jacobson; baby brother, Peter and infant triplets; and brothers-in-law, Ed Roubinek , Russell Zastera.
Jake leaves to mourn him: his wife, Nancy of 56 years; his daughter, Laura McKeag (Wendell); grandchildren, Jessica Antonson Kueppers (Joe), Andrew McKeag; great-grandson, Colton Kueppers; sisters, June Roubinek, Adeline Zastera, Beverly Radneicki (Pat), Karen Craig (Phil); and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Rowe Funeral Home in Frederic on Friday, February 9th from 5 to 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Frederic on Saturday, February 10th - visitation at church will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Arveda "Freddie" Kirk will be officiating. Lunch will be served following the service.
