Glenn Virgil Mattson, 82, of Luck, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on June 13th, 2018 at St. Croix Regional Medical Center.
Glenn was born January 21, 1936 in Laketown Township to Lawrence and Bernice Mattson. He graduated in 1954 from Luck High School. After high school, Glenn spent two years in the Navy which included travel to Hawaii and Japan. He then attended college in River Falls to further his agricultural background. While attending college, he met Mary A. Lehman whom he married on July 19, 1958 and to this union three children were born: Lorraine, Randahl and Bradley.
Glenn held many different careers over his lifetime including owning a convenience store, being a machinist, selling real estate, as well as many years in dairy farming. Glenn enjoyed the outdoors including camping, fishing and hunting. In his later years he was occupied with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Glenn will always be remembered for his sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Bernice Mattson; brother, LTC Dean Mattson; infant brother, Vernon; and niece, Jennifer Mattson.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Lorraine (Charles) Turner of Balsam Lake, Randahl (Kris) Mattson of Luck, and Bradley Mattson of Luck; brothers, Dwain (Terry) Mattson of Spooner, Dale (Robin) Mattson of Luck; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1614 270th Ave., Luck, WI on Saturday, June 23rd – visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Military Honors will be presented at the church following the service.
