Obituary for Harlan E. Seck
Harlan Edward Seck passed away on Monday the 27th of February, 2017 at his home in Luck, Wisconsin. He was born on October 22, 1936 in East Union, Carver County, MN to Leonard and Clara (Breuggemeier) Seck.

Harlan grew up in Carver County, MN. He graduated from Norwood-Young America High School in 1955. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy in September, 1955 and served for 4 years, his rank was an Airman at the Naval Base in New Jersey. He was Honorably Discharged in 1959.

While he was in the Navy in New Jersey he met his wife, Jean while on a blind date at a roller rink in Atlantic City. They married on June 6, 1957 in Atlantic City while Harlan was still serving in the Navy. They were happily married for 59+ years.

After serving in the Navy, he, Jean and son, Edward, moved to Chaska, MN – close to where Harlan grew up. There he began working for NSP. He later decided to attend Dunwoody Technical College for Service Technician and Appliance Repair. After a long career in that field for Amana, he and Jean retired and moved to the Luck, Wisconsin area in a home on Sand Lake where he enjoyed fishing and being on their pontoon. Several years later, they made their final move into the village of Luck. In his retirement he enjoyed working for his son, Ed and daughter-in-law, Jody doing miscellaneous maintenance, etc. in their convenience store locations.

Harlan was also a dedicated Volunteer Fireman and served the Fire Department of Carver, MN for 20 years where he retired with an Honor Award of Service. Harlan enjoyed fishing, reading and being a volunteer for the Carver Fire Department, his best times were spending a lot of time with his family and friends.

Harlan is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Clara Seck; brother, Wallace Seck; and brother, Rolland Seck.

Harlan is survived by his wife, Jean of 59+ years; son, Ed and Jody (Jensen) Seck of Luck, WI; daughter, Barbara Seck and Chris Klein of Hanover, MN; sister, Judy (Seck) and Darrell Werner; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A very special thank you to Northland Ambulance and Rowe Funeral Home.

A Memorial Service will be held at Luck Lutheran Church, Luck, Wisconsin on Saturday, March 4th – visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Julie Brenden will be officiating. A burial will be planned for early spring at the Luck Village Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to: Northland Ambulance, P.O. Box 155, Luck, WI 54853.
