Obituary for Harry C. Rasmussen
Harry Christian Rasmussen was born January 15, 1931 in Polk County, WI to Hans and Christina Rasmussen. He died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN at the age of 81.


He was born and raised in rural Luck, WI on his parents’ farm, joined the military during the Korean War and was discharged with Full Honors. He was a life-long member of the American Legion in Milltown, WI.


In 1959 Harry bought the family homestead from his mother, he worked at Whirlpool in St. Paul, also cash cropped the land on his farm. He retired from Whirlpool after 25 years of service, then worked at Milltown Skelgas and Tires Experts in Milltown, and loved to bartend.


He was a hunter, an avid fisherman, and gardener and had a love for dogs.


He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Mildred “Millie” Rasmussen.


He is survived by four children, Valerie (Rick) Ellingworth of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, Rhonda Rasmussen of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, Bruce (Chris) Rasmussen of Greenwood, Indiana, Becky Baker of Frostburg, Maryland; two brothers, Magnus (Ellie) Rasmussen of Danbury, Wisconsin, Hans (Liz) Rasmussen of Washington, and sister, Gloria (Lane) Cooper of Washington; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Funeral services were held at the Rowe Funeral Home in Luck, WI on Monday, April 9 with Rev. Ralph Thompson officiating. Music was provided by organist, Margie Nelson. Interment with Full Military Honors took place at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
