Obituary for Inez E. Mackie
Inez E. Mackie died Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007, at the Comforts of Home care enter in Frederic, Wisconsin. Inez was born on August 5th, 1927, to Melvin and Hilda Erickson. She enjoyed growing up in Frederic and graduated from its high school in 1945. In that same year she married Air Corps sergeant (later educator) Lyle Mackie of Lewis. From 1954 to 1969 they settled in Boyceville, raising a son, Richard, and a daughter, Brenda. From 1969 to 1992 they made their home in Chippewa Falls. Along the way Inez made many friends and pursued a number of favorite activities. She enjoyed travel, their place at Bone Lake, gardening and other outdoor interests. She was a gifted singer, being particularly active in church choirs in Boyceville and Chippewa Falls. Her service as a soloist was requested at a great many local weddings, anniversaries, funerals and other special events. In later life she was an award winning real estate agent, first with Mackie Realty and then with additional regional agencies. After retirement in 1992 she and Lyle liked to split their time between their final home in Menomonie and a winter home in Arizona. Inez was preceded in death by her husband Lyle and brother Harlan. She is succeeded by brother Arden; sisters Leone and Gwen; son Richard (Sally); daughter Brenda (George); five grandchildren (Leah, Lynn, Lisa, Ross, Justin); and six great-grandchildren (Corrine, Reagan, Owen, Zach, Riley, Eva). She leaves behind many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Her funeral was held at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Frederic, Wisconsin, on Saturday April 7th. Interment was in Frederic's Maple Grove Cemetery. Rowe Funeral Home of Frederic was entrusted with the arrangements.
