Obituary for James A. Fjorden
James (Jim) Anton Fjorden, currently of Turtle Lake, WI, previously of Milltown and Luck, WI passed away April 7, 2015. He was born in Minneapolis, MN on November 5, 1937, the third of seven children to Harold and Margaret Fjorden. In 1947 the family moved to Bone Lake Township in Polk County, Wisconsin.

Jim attended school in Luck, WI. He entered the Army on January 12, 1955 and served a three-year term. For part of that time he was deployed to South Korea. He was Honorably Discharged from the Army on November 21, 1957. Jim was a long-time member of the American Legion Post 254 in Milltown.

Jim had many jobs over the years which included Stokely canning factory in Milltown, the Peterson sawmill near Luck, Wheeler Lumber and Bridge in St. Louis Park, MN, BH Builders in Milltown, the National Park Service out of Trego, lineman for the Soo Line Railroad, the Polk County Park Service and the Interstate State Park in St. Croix Falls, WI.

Jim loved to hunt and fish and play basketball, football and baseball with his children. He enjoyed playing cribbage with his friends, reading and doing crossword puzzles.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lucille Jaeger. He is survived by his son, Paul Fjorden of Luck; daughter, Cathy (Mike) Grambow of Luck; his wife, Priscilla (Hellerud) Fjorden of Turtle Lake; and their children, Jennifer (Mike) Swenson of Turtle Lake and Jason (Wendy) Fjorden of Park City Kansas; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his siblings, George (Sandy) Fjorden of Luck, Jack (Bonnie) Fjorden of Milltown, CoraMae Bunge of Luck, Harold (Kathy) Fjorden of Luck and Marguerite Lindblom of Frederic; and several nieces and nephews.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial services will be held at Milltown Lutheran Church, Milltown, WI on Saturday, April 11th visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Maggie Isaacson and Rev. Arveda Freddie Kirk will be officiating. Soloist will be Jennifer Swenson and organist will be Susan Hellerud. Lunch will be served at the church following the service.
