Obituary for James L. Ouellette
James Lawrence Ouellette, 59, of Milltown, died at Good Samaritan Home in St. Croix Falls on April 24. Jim was born on Sept. 29, 1947, in Minneapolis, Minn., the adopted son of Lawrence and Frances Ouellette. He grew up in Georgetown Township, and graduated from Unity School in 1966. Jim held the mile record in track from 1965 till 1968, (4 min. 54.1 sec.) He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. He was united in marriage to Joan Mary Belle-Isle of Minneapolis, Minn., on October 3, 1970, at St. Patrickís Catholic Church in Centuria. A highlight of their life together was a 1975 trip to the Holy Land. They lived in Minneapolis, Minn., during which time he worked at Horner Waldorf in St. Paul. He was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1972. They moved to Milltown in 1993. He loved his family very much. He also enjoyed trap, skeet shooting and deer hunting. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence. He is survived by his wife, Joan; sons, Aaron Martin (Aaron Jo) of Cushing and Nathan of Milltown; daughter, Miriam of Milltown; grandchildren, Ashley, Gaven and Parys Ouellette; mother, Frances of Osceola; two sisters and five brothers, as well as many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held April 27 at Our Lady Of The Lakes Catholic Church in Balsam Lake. The Very Reverend John A. Drummy officiated. Interment was held at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Georgetown. There was a very impressive attendance by the Wisconsin department of Veterans Affairs Memorial Honor Team and local veterans groups. The Rowe Funeral Home of Luck was entrusted with arrangements.
