Obituary for James W. Jensen
James "Jim" Jensen lost a short battle with cancer, on December 17, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was 69 years old.
Jim was born in Amery, WI on January 7, 1947 to Dwight and Elaine Jensen. He attended Unity School. After high school, he married the love of his life, Sue Bohn, in 1966. Together they raised three kids – and being a family-man suited Jim well.
Jim was a master welder and carpenter. He loved working in his shop doing all kinds of projects from woodworking to welding. Jim built his family home in Luck stick-by-stick with his own hands. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. Each year he enjoyed "hunting" at the hut. Lots of stories were told, memories made, and laughs shared with family and his friend, MoFo. Even though Jim did not like to be the center of attention, he always played the most integral role in everything the family did. He was the driver of the hayride, the person on the other end of the walkie-talkie waiting for the call to come help get the deer to the deer pole, and so on. Jim was the person that everyone could count on – always just a phone call away. Many people knew Jim as the guy that always got the job done, fixed whatever they needed fixed, he helped in any way he could. Jim was the center of his family and will be missed immeasurably.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight and Elaine Jensen; infant brother, Dwight Jr.; and many aunts and uncles.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sue (Bohn) Jensen; children, Kelly Jensen, Jeremy (Toni) Jensen, and Kevin (Christina) Jensen; grandchildren, Brittany (Chris) Hanson, Ryan Curtis, Jenna Curtis, Denny Brule, Bennett Jensen, Grace Jensen, Emma Jensen, Spencer Jensen; great-grandson, Isaac Hanson; brother, Doug (Louise) Jensen; brothers/sisters-in-law; Becky (Ron) Sullivan, Kathy (Pete) Shay, Dick (Kathy) Bohn, Don (Cindy) Bohn, Dann Bohn, Dale (Becky) Bohn; and his favorite dog, Chuck; along with many other close friends and family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 8th at the Luck Lions DBS hall, Luck, WI from 1 to 4 p.m. Please come and share a story as we celebrate the life of an amazing man!
"Life is good. There you have it." – Jim Jensen
