Jeanette Mae Johnson, age 70, passed away from cancer at her home, surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 21, 2019.
She was born on July 12, 1948 in Wisconsin Rapids and was the youngest of four children. She graduated in 1966 from Wisconsin Rapids High School and attended college in Stevens Point, WI. Later she attended Normandale Community College and obtained an Associate Degree in Music Theory.
Jeanette met the love of her life, Claude Johnson in 1966, and they were married on August 17, 1968. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. Jeanette and Claude lived and raised their two daughters in Eden Prairie, MN for 20 years before moving to Cumberland, WI on beautiful Bass Lake.
Jeanette was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She spent 20 years teaching piano and had a love of music. Jeanette will be remembered for her love of the outdoors whether gardening, tending to her plants and flowers, watching the wildlife, feeding the birds, and enjoying the beautiful scenery.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother. She is survived by her husband, Claude; daughter, Sara (Lee) Thernell and their children, Tyler and Harper; daughter, Paula (Jason) Purcelli and their children, Taylor (Kenny), Logan and Leighton. She is also survived by her great-grandchild, Evelyn; her sister and brother; her brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; neighbors and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Jeanette requested memorials to Cumberland Healthcare Foundation.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Rowe Funeral Home in Luck, WI on Friday, March 29th – visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by the service at 2:00 p.m.
