Obituary for Kevin W. Sommerfeld
Kevin Wayne Sommerfeld, age 29, of Frederic, Wisconsin, died suddenly on Saturday, April 1, 2017.
In lieu of flowers please, contact the funeral home.
He was born on May 12, 1987 to Jerry and Laurie Sommerfeld at the Cumberland Memorial Hospital. He was baptized at Clam Falls Lutheran Church on August 23, 1987.
Kevin had several jobs over the years, starting from the age of 12. His first job was washing dishes at the Indian Creek Tavern. He then moved on to work on the Crosby Farm. In 2005, he graduated from Frederic High School where he had played football for all four years. He went to Chippewa Valley Tech, graduating with an HVAC degree. He worked at Menards running forklift and moved on to drilling wells. He decided in 2008 to follow in his dad's footsteps, becoming a truck driver. He was still trucking at the time of his death.
He loved to hunt, fish, and was a farmer at heart. He enjoyed camping and canoeing with friends and family. He loved his dog, Reggie and his cat, Jax. Most of all he loved his girlfriend, Amber, and their soon to be born baby. He was so excited to be starting a family with Amber that he was eagerly remodeling their home to prepare for their baby girl.
Kevin is survived by his parents, Jerry and Laurie Sommerfeld; sisters, Amber (Mike) Huskinson and Brenda (Aaron) Martin; nephew, Holden Huskinson; niece and Goddaughter, Cali; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, aunt, and great-grandparents.
He is forever loved and will be missed deeply.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 8th from 4 to 7:00 p.m. at Clam Falls Campground. The family requests your thoughts and prayers in lieu of flowers.
