Obituary for Kyle W. Johnson
Kyle W. Johnson, 44, resident of McKinley Township – Luck, WI. Kyle was born December 30, 1965 in Lindstrom, MN; he died unexpectedly on Monday, February 1, 2010. Kyle grew up sailing, water skiing, fishing and swimming on South Lindstrom Lake. He loved down hill skiing at Wild Mountain every weekend with his buddies. He graduated from Chisago Lakes High School and attended Anoka Vo-tech for Tool and Die Making. In 1988 he married Lori Carlson and they had three children, Marly, Rachel, and Cameron. Kyle worked as a die maker until he went into partnership at Complete Tire and Oil. They had a good business and Kyle loved to visit with customers and help them out. Kyle was always looking for old stuff. He found a Whizzer motor bicycle, and he would ride it to a customer’s place of business or home and leave the bike, drive the vehicle back to the shop, do the work that needed to be done and then return and pick up his bike. People would see him coming on the Whizzer, gave him a thumbs up and just grin because Kyle was grinning from ear to ear just loving the ride. After selling Complete Tire and Oil, Kyle went to work for a local construction company. He would say “this is just like it was when I was a kid, playing down in the sand by the lake with my Tonka toys, only I get paid for it”. He loved fishing, deer hunting, gardening, raising cattle, hogs and chickens - horses no! He loved to can hot peppers and would offer them saying “they're mild, try one”. Then he'd grin a little, his idea of mild was not the same as most and they were hotter than heck!!! In 2006 Kyle moved to Luck, Wisconsin and bought a small farm east of Luck on highway 48. He had his garden, his animals, a small lake to fish in and a place to hunt. He started a landscaping business called Johnson Rock Wall. One of his larger projects was Faith Lodge near Danbury. He, with the help of his companion Genny, did many other landscaping projects in the area. Kyle joined the Luck Fire Dept and enjoyed all the local camaraderie. Kyle was a kind man, a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many. Even though our faith tells us he is in a better place, his warm hand shake and smile, and his love for family and friends will be greatly missed. He is survived by his children, Marly, Rachel and Cameron; his parents, Sherwin and Diane Johnson of Lindstrom, MN; sister, Heather and her husband Craig, niece, Elly and nephew, Max Martin of Lindstrom; his companion, Genny Berg of Luck and many other loving relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church – McKinley Township, (for MapQuest use: 2532 15th St, Cumberland, WI) on Sat, Feb 6th – visitation at 10AM, services at 11AM. Rev. Neil Weltzin will be officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Janice Anderson, soloist, Katie Ennis and pianist, Susan Morgan.
