Obituary for Leonard F. Schandorff
Leonard Frederick Schandorff, 94, passed away, Monday, September 24, 2018, at the United Pioneer Home, Luck.
He was born, April 16, 1924, in Eureka Twp., Polk Co., the son of Fred and Lena (Loew) Schandorff. He was the oldest of six children. He was baptized August 22, 1924, in Milltown.
He attended many elementary schools up to the eighth grade.
He married Betty Ann Schilling, December 14, 1949 at the Milltown Lutheran Church.
Leonard farmed with his Dad for a time, then drove truck for road construction. He later worked for Frederic Farmers Union Co. When he retired he worked at home repairing small tractors and welding farm machinery. He enjoyed snowmobiling and loved spending time in the woods cutting firewood. He also made wood craft like quilt racks, shelves, clocks, etc.
Leonard and Betty enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Texas, New York, South Carolina, California, Oregon, Washington, Canada and many other states.
He was a member of Bone Lake Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; sister, Shirley (Doran) Gray, Albert Lea, MN; sister-in-law, Erma Schandorff, Fort Worth, TX; brother-in-law, Reynold (Barb) Petersen, Dallas, WI; numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lena; brothers, Gordon (Dora Ann) Schandorff, Vernon Schandorff; sisters, Dorothy (Rick) Olson and Verlene Petersen.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Bone Lake Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Angie Kutney officiating - with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will be in the Bone Lake Cemetery.
The Rowe Funeral Home in Luck and the Northwest Wisconsin Cremation Center in Milltown have been entrusted with the services.
