Leslie John Ellefson, 90, of Frederic, WI passed away to his heavenly home June 14, 2017.
Leslie was born December 7, 1926 the son of John and Frances (Eppard) Ellefson. He grew up in Santiago Township, MN where he attended a one-room schoolhouse.
Leslie enlisted in the United States Army serving his country 2 years. Most of his military time was spent in Saipan.
He married Elizabeth (Betty) Tyler January 15, 1955. They lived in Columbia Heights where Leslie worked for 37 years at the Cargill Plant.
After his retirement, they moved to the Bone Lake area. His enjoyments included camping, fishing, pontooning, cutting wood, lawn mowing and riding his gator.
Leslie is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Scott (Vicki), Leslie (Katie); grandchildren, Beth, Cheri, Kelsey, Crystal; goddaughter, Pamela Cooper; and sister, Lucille Dzuik; many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Mark; brothers, Roger Ellefson who is survived by his wife, Carolyn, and Charles Ellefson; and sisters, Doris Chairpairini and her husband, Louis, Jeanette Tyler and her husband, George, Sally Pack, Ruth Ann Wilson and her husband, Robert, Esther Newport and her husband, Lloyd and Estella Hansen and her husband, John “Woody”.
The memorial service honoring the life of Leslie Ellefson was held on Saturday, June 17 at Cumberland Baptist Church. Pastor Gary Dorn officiated the service. Military Honors were presented at the church following the service.
