Obituary for Lois J. Nick
Lois J. Nick, 75, resident of Milltown, WI, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

Lois was born December 27, 1937, in Minneapolis, MN, to Harry and Evelyn LaMere. She graduated in 1955 from South High School.

Lois was united in marriage to Henry Nick, Sr. of Cushing, WI on January 19, 1957 at Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN. They lived in Minnesota until 1973. At that time, they purchased the Lewis Bar in Lewis, WI. During this time, they developed lasting friendships with many of those who they met. After selling the Lewis Bar in 1978, they purchased the first of two farms in Luck, WI. They milked cows and raised crops until they sold the farm and retired in April 2005. They moved to their retirement home on Dairyland Avenue in Milltown, WI where she resided until death.

Lois enjoyed playing the piano, reading, crocheting, knitting, sewing and gardening. In addition to being a stay at home mom, Lois taught piano lessons. On weekends, the family spent time with her mother, Evelyn and stepfather, Alex Taylor on Spirit Lake outside of Frederic, WI. In later years, Lois enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents Harry LaMere, Evelyn and Alex Taylor; grandson Matthew Nick; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is survived by her husband, Hank; children Butch (Lisa) Nick, Robert Nick, Diana (Darrell) Flodin, Christina (David) Lein; 12 grandchildren, Stephanie (Tim) Nelson, Jennifer Nick, Andy Nick, Laura (Brad) McCurdy, Fallun Flodin, Ryan Flodin, Sabrina Flodin, Christopher Flodin, Andy Flodin, Candus Flodin, Jonathan Lein, Emily Lein; 9 great-grandchildren; sister Carole Hagstrom; great-aunt, Eleanor Olson; cousin, Carole Olson.

A memorial was held at Luck Lutheran Church in Luck, WI on Thursday, May 23 with Pastor Ralph Thompson officiating. Music was provided by Margie Nelson, Janet Holdt and Diana Flodin. Interment will be at the Wolf Creek Cemetery, Wolf Creek, WI.
