Obituary for Luella M. Hochstetler
Luella M. Hochstetler, 90, of Luck, WI passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at the United Pioneer Home.

Luella was born in Denver, Colorado. She moved to San Francisco at age 17. She found a place to stay in a rooming house and got a job at a department store. This is where she developed her love of fashion. We all remember Luella for the dresses she always wore. You could even find her in the garden with a dress on!

She met Wilbur Hochstetler in San Francisco on a double date. Wilbur was a marine back from the war. They dated for two weeks and married in three. Luella always said she wanted to marry a farmer so she would always have food!

They moved to Wisconsin and lived on a farm. There was always a cow, chickens and the best ever gardens.

They had five children. Luella was a housewife and then worked different jobs during her lifetime, Duncan Yo-Yo being her first; then as a maintenance person at Frederic School. Lastly, she worked at the bean factory in Cumberland. We all remember her coming home with her yellow hard hat on. Also on her trip home, she would stop by Bass Lake on Highway 48 and release all the frogs she rescued from the conveyor belts as she sorted the beans.

Lastly, and most importantly, she was a Wife, Mother, and Grandmother to all her family and extended families. She was also Grandma Luella to many other children. She was the Fun Grandma.

We will remember her for her yellow dress, apple and raisin snacks, her scrumptious meals, and her wonderful desserts.

Luella, you were the sunshine of our lives! Rest in peace with your family who has gone before you. Dance with Wilbur and rejoice in the Lord.
