Obituary for Lyle M. Johnson
Lyle M. Johnson, 75, of Luck, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with COPD.  Lyle was born April 9, 1943 in New Richmond, WI to Milton and Lila (Strege) Johnson.  He was the eldest of nine children.  His parents moved to the Bone Lake area when he was about 9 years old.  He graduated from Luck High School in 1962.  Bone Lake is where he made his family’s home after marrying Darlene Anderson in July of 1969.  To this union, Dean and Kelly were born.  Lyle and Dean farmed many years on the family dairy farm.  Lyle continued to farm until he was no longer able to.

Family always came first for Lyle.  He enjoyed watching his children grow, but his grandchildren held a special place in his heart.  Lyle could often be found teaching his grandchildren “bad habits”.  After visiting Grandpa Lyle, Cody and Julianna often left with pockets full of peanuts and Snicker candy bars.  He recently taught Brooke to say “no” at bedtime.  Lyle enjoyed watching Dean and Kelly show cattle and pull tractors throughout the years.  From time to time, he would pull Dean’s 1175 Case to show the kids how it was done.  This brought smiles to everyone’s faces.

Lyle enjoyed his horses and could often be found driving them a couple of times a week.  He enjoyed making farm equipment and woodworking projects for family.  His love for the outdoors led to sharing many deer hunting memories with his children and family.  Playing and watching sports was also a pastime of his.  As well as spending time with his siblings and family at family get togethers and events.

Lyle loved driving!  Sunday drives were one of his favorite past times as he would often take the long way to and from with his family.  After Dean and Kelly had children of their own, Lyle continued this tradition with his grandchildren.  Lyle’s love for driving and seeing the countryside led him to his last job of driving for the Amish which he did up until his death.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Lila Johnson; brother, Merle Johnson, an infant niece; and nephew, Brent Johnson.

He is survived by his children, Dean Johnson and Kelly (Tanner) Hubert; grandchildren, Cody Borresen, Julianna Thompson and Brooke Hubert; siblings, Carolyn Dirckx, Duke (Robyn) Johnson, Bruce (Cindy) Johnson, Nancy (Brad) Bradwell, Mark (Kris) Johnson, Beth (Dave) Talmadge, and Scott (Karen) Johnson; several nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Zion Lutheran Church of Bone Lake on Thursday, August 23rd from 5 to 7:00 p.m.  A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 24th also at Zion Lutheran Church of Bone Lake beginning at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service.

You are invited to leave condolences, memories and photos at www.rowefh.com .  Arrangements are entrusted to Rowe Funeral Home in Luck, 715-472-2444 and the Northwest Wisconsin Cremation Center in Milltown, www.wicremationcenter.com .
