After WWII Marian enrolled at the Felte and Tarrant School of Comptometer, attending classes at night after work. This led to her job at Swift & Co. in Des Moines.
Marian was married April 23, 1939 to John W. Marrifield in Bethany, Missouri. They divorced in 1946 and had no children.
