Obituary for Marilyn L. Nelson
Marilyn L. Nelson, age 70, of Luck, WI passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2015, at the United Pioneer Home.

Marilyn was born May 1st, 1945 at the Frederic Hospital to Lewis (Louie) Christian and Marilda (Mae) Rosannah Hammer Berg. She was baptized at Laketown Lutheran Church on June 17th, 1945 and confirmed on August 2nd, 1959 at Laketown. She grew up on the Berg family farm outside of Luck, attended Oak Hill School and graduated from Luck High School in 1963. After graduation Marilyn worked in St. Paul, MN.

She married her husband, Harvey Vern Nelson of Rush City, MN and they were happily married for 47 years. Harvey and Marilyn resided in Blaine, MN prior to moving to Luck, WI where she worked at Northside Auto Clinic and Lakes Gas Company. Harvey and Marilyn operated Harveys Woodworking and Refinishing in Luck, WI for 25 years. She loved working with her best friend, spending many hours in her staining room and handling all of the business bookwork. They were known for their refinishing perfection by many customers far and near.

Marilyns hobbies included bowling, cake decorating, card playing and games with the family, listening to local music entertainment, playing and entertaining with her grandchildren which included traveling to many of their events, vacations and family camping trips were times that Marilyn especially enjoyed.

Marilyn and Harvey built their dream log home on the hill of Marilyns family farm land, which she loved so much. She was a member of the Luck Lutheran Church, Luck Community Club, Luck Winter Carnival Committee, Luck Library Board and a greeter at the Luck Museum.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; father, Louie and mother, Mae; sisters, Carol and Kathy.

Survivors are daughters, Juanita (Pat) Dietmeier of Luck and Michelle (Brian) Doolittle of Cushing; 5 grandchildren, Nick, Brianna and Mireya Dietmeier of Luck and Marley and Madelyn Doolittle of Cushing; sister, Marlys (Duane) Murphy of Milltown, WI; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Luck Lutheran Church on Thursday, August 27, 2015 visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Ralph Thompson will be officiating and music will be provided by organist, Margie Nelson and vocalists, Sheila Brom and JoAnne Christensen.

Marilyn will be laid to rest next to her husband, Harvey at Laketown Cemetery following lunch at the church. Honorary Pallbearers will be Glen Haylock, Ron Pederson, Joe Hanson, Butch Sahr, Brian Denker and Bob Dueholm.
