Obituary for Mary Jane Malinovsky
Mary Jane (Cottrell) Malinovsky, 92, of Lorain township, WI passed away Friday, November 30, 2018.
She was born to William and Lillian Cottrell on November 11, 1926 in Lakeville, MN. Mary went to Logan Grade School in North Minneapolis and Edison High School in Northeast Minneapolis.
Mary met the love of her life, Thomas Malinovsky of Lorain township and they were wed January 26, 1952. Thomas and Mary were blessed with 8 children, Michael, Mary, Joseph, Rose, Aaron, Diane, David and Paul.
Mary worked at the Telephone Answering Exchange and Western Union Minneapolis. She also worked at Stokely's Van Camp in Frederic, WI and the Main Street Cafe in Siren, WI.
She had many hobbies including cooking, baking, canning, making ceramics, and taking loving care of her family.
Mary was an active member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Frederic for 66 years, including working at the annual church festival, the annual Christmas Bazaar, Ladies Circle, funerals, greeter, and Deanery meetings.
Mary is survived by her children, Michael, Mary (Michael) Richter, Joseph, Rose (Bert), Diane, David, Paul (Michelle); 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-grandchildren; sister, Betts Callander; sisters-in-law, Joan Anderson, Dorothea Easterling; several nieces and nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; son, Aaron; brothers, William and John; sisters, Lillian and Marlene; half-sisters, Annabelle, Mae, Luella and Elvira.
Mary will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Frederic, WI at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 6th with visitation Wednesday evening, December 5th from 4 to 7:00 p.m. at Rowe Funeral Home in Frederic and one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday. Mary will be laid to rest next to Thomas at St. Dominic Catholic Cemetery following the service.
