Obituary for Mikel J. Duncan
Mikel Joseph Duncan passed away at home peacefully surrounded by family on February 26, 2017. Mikel was born on July 8, 1953 in Siren, WI to Mack and Delores Duncan. He graduated from Frederic High School and attended WITC New Richmond for machinist. Mikel worked at Parker Hannifin in Grantsburg, WI for 40 years where he retired from. He resided in the Frederic area all his life.
Mikel was known as an outdoorsman, he loved fishing, hunting, trapping, camping, cutting wood and trap shooting. Mikel was a hunter safety instructor and trapping instructor.
Mikel married Linda Burton, the love of his life, on August 7, 1999. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mack Duncan; his father-in-law, Willis Burton; and his nieces, Janelle and Amy Stocker.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Gerald Duncan (Analiza); mother, Delores; step-sons, Scott Nelson, Corey Nelson (Amy Glinske); 6 grandchildren; brother, James Duncan; sister, Charlene Stocker (Randy); many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Frederic on Saturday, March 4th – visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Father Joseph Madanu will be officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Duncan, Kevin Duncan, Richard Fredericks, Ben Anderson, Bruce Cutsforth and Randy Stocker.
