Obituary for Nancy A. Thompson
Nancy Ann Thompson (Anyzeski), 66, of Luck WI, formerly of North Stonington, CT died Monday, June 2, 2014 at the University of Minnesota Hospital on Harvard Street in Minneapolis. Nancy was born on November 28, 1947 to Hazel (Drake) and Thomas Peabody. Nancy grew up in Clarks Falls, CT and graduated from Wheeler High School in 1966. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Leon Drake, Frank Anyzeski, and sister Mary McNutt. Nancy met the love of her life Robert Lee Thompson, while he was serving in the US Navy. They were married on April 15, 1967 at the Second Baptist Church in North Stonington, CT. Following the completion of his tour of duty, they moved to the Thompson family dairy farm in Centuria, WI where they raised their four children, Robert Lee Thompson Jr. (Margaret) of Osceola, WI, Lisa Rae Baillargeon (Eric) of Milltown, WI, Heidi Jo Hansen (Mike) of Dellwood, MN, and Nathan Chad Thompson of Stillwater, MN. Nancy was active with all aspects of the family farm until it was sold in 1997. Nancy worked at the United Pioneer Home in Luck, WI from 1982 through 2011 where she brought her gift of loving service to all she cared for and formed lasting friendships with her colleagues. Nancy was a wonderful mother who dedicated her life to raising her children stating many times that God gifted her more time than she imagined she would have when diagnosed with breast cancer in 1978. Nancy faced another severe health challenge in 2001 when she learned she needed a liver transplant. Her beloved daughter Lisa was privileged to be the donor. This gift of life gave Nancy 13 more years which blessed her whole family especially her seven wonderful grandchildren Eric Wester 24, Abbigail Thompson 14, Timothy Ryle 14, Blake Hansen 12, Brock Hansen 12, Amelia Thompson 11, and Eleanor Thompson 10, who were the light of her life. Friendship was also very important to Nancy. Her children have shared that their parents friends were a much loved extension of their family. Nancy loved being near or in the ocean any time she got the opportunity. As Nancy was a long way from home, the calls from "out east" were very exciting for her. Nancy was very active with any Thompson Family gatherings and reunions, Bob's family was very much Nancy's family. Though Nancy had to fight through numerous serious medical challenges she was never heard to complain. Nancy was a woman of incredible grace and unwavering faith. Nancy will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Nancy is now in Heaven with her Lord and Savior and reunited with her loved ones.
