Obituary for Ramona A. Hochstetler
Ramona Hochstetler of Luck, WI, died on July 10, 2008, at St. Croix Regional Medical Center. She was 77 years of age. Ramona was born on October 29, 1930, in Spencer, WI, to Earl and Lillian Reas. Following graduation from Mellen High School in 1948, she attended Ashland County Normal Teacher's College in Ashland, WI. In 1948, Ramona married Ben Hochstetler in Mellen, WI. To this union, four children were born. While raising her children and enjoying her grandchildren she worked at various occupations. These included working at the Duncan Yo-Yo factory, owning the Frederic Café, and doing secretarial work at Land O’Lakes and the Stokely’s factory. Working at the Luck Greenhouse and cooking at the Frederic Country Club were also jobs she enjoyed. Family and friends were very important to Mona. She had many hobbies and interests. She loved her trips to Canada, bowling, horseshoes, planting her flowers, playing cards, reading, bingo, games, and cooking. Her family and friends hold dear all of the many treasures she crocheted for them. Mona was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Ralph and Earl Reas; and son-in-law, Jerry Huser. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ben Hochstetler; son, Dennis Hochstetler (Robyn) of Delta Junction, Alaska; daughters, Pam Huser-Smith (Ron Smith) of Madison, WI, Patti Basley of Luck, WI and Linda Lemieux (Brian Hughes) of Luck, WI; sister, Juanita Gerber of Hayward, WI; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of Ramona’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 14th, 2008, at the Bone Lake Lutheran Church with Pastor Mary Ann Bowman officiating. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family one hour prior to the Memorial Service. Rowe Funeral Home, Luck, WI, is entrusted with the arrangements.
