Obituary for Richard Kreutzian
Sunday, December 19, 2010 Richard Kreutzian departed this mortal existence after an incredible life.

Born December 21, 1921, Dick was born to Thomas and Sophie (Oeffler) Kreutzian. This family was filled with brothers and 1 sister, Loraine (Charles Volk), James (Eleanor), Art (deceased Jan, 2000), Robert (Donnie), and Bruce (Nancy Larson). Frederic Wisconsin was home during his youth.

Hard work was no stranger in his childhood farm setting, but the home was filled with laughter and love. The Kreutzians were known for their close family ties and many family get-togethers.

Dick served in the U.S. Army, was stationed in New Guinea in WWII and awarded the Bronze Star for Valor. Upon returning home he met the lovely Agnes Nelson and soon made her his bride. They married February 14, 1944, eventually making their home in Balsam Lake, WI. To this union three boys made the family complete, Rodney (Vikki) of Edgewood, NM, David (Barbara) of Maple Grove, MN and Dennis of Knoxville, TN to which 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren have been added.

Dick made his livelihood working the earth and raising dairy cattle. Even though farming was a necessary need, hunting was Dick’s love – deer, coon, fox, bear and coyotes (it didn’t matter) kept his hunting world buzzing and his buddies kept him on the move. He loved his hounds and there were always 2 or more around. When life changed, woodwork became a passion and many where enriched from his work; dog boxes to bird houses and many things in between, the next adventure was firewood - the poor chainsaw. This man never slowed down.

Aggie passed away in 2004 after 54 years of marriage, loneliness was haunting when he renewed an old acquaintance from his youth, Dick found love and companionship with Elaine Jensen of Frederic. They were married January 16, 2005 and enjoyed 3 ½ years together before Elaine died. Her children embraced Dick and his family making a wonderful combination. What a grand gathering of awesome folks that blessed all.

He had tons of friends, but one thing was for sure, Dick lived life his way. The dogs no longer bay and the chainsaw is still. Dick has touched the lives of many and truly will be missed.

Visitation will be held at the Rowe Funeral Home in Frederic on Wednesday, December 22 from 4-6 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.

Funeral services will be held at Clam Falls Lutheran Church in Clam Falls, WI on Thursday, December 23 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Union Cemetery with full military honors at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
