Robert Bryan Bernitt (“Bobby” / “Bubba”) passed away unexpectedly at his home in Eureka Township on Sunday, March 3, 2019.
Bobby was born in Tomahawk, WI on July 6, 1959 to Deanna Calhoun and Robert Bernitt. He moved to Dresser, WI in 1964 with his family, and he graduated from St. Croix Falls High School in 1977. In the late 80’s, Bobby purchased a home in Eureka Township. In 2000, he married Tami Nelson. Bobby loved spending time with family and friends, especially his best friend, Kevin Tschumper of Milltown, WI. Bobby enjoyed hunting, fishing (especially ice fishing), camping and partying with family and friends. Bobby also loved spending time at his cabin at Brantwood, WI. His favorite hunting sport was bow hunting for Whitetails. Bobby loved to cook, especially wild game cooking. Bobby also had a fondness for Chocolate Labs as he raised 3 Chocolate Labs (Misty, Ruger, and Luke) during his life and trained them to be excellent bird hunting dogs as well as gentle companions. Bobby spent his career working for Shafer Contracting and then for Lunda Construction as a cement finisher.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Bernitt and Deanna Calhoun, his step-father, Lyle Olson, and his wife, Tami Bernitt.
Bobby is survived by his brothers, Shane (Brenda) Bernitt of Cushing, WI, Mark (Julie) Olson of Woodbury, MN, and sister, Shelly Heeren of Holley, OR. Also survived by step-brothers, Mike (Becky) Olson and Bruce (Holly) Olson of Chanhassen, MN, and several nieces and nephews, Bailey (Basil), Aurora, Barkley (Bernitt), Spencer, Ethan (Olson), CJ, Robbie, Cody (Heeren), Daniel (Olson), Parker (Caitlin), James, McNeil, Anders (Olson); many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
