Obituary for Stewart N. Swanson
Stewart Swanson, 99, resident of Frederic, WI died on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the Burnett Medical Center in Grantsburg. Stewart was born February 2, 1910 to Albert and Esther Swanson. He worked from 1941 to 1972 as a ship-fitter in Superior, WI and retired early, spending many of his remaining years traveling and visiting his many relatives and in playing golf. Stewart was preceded in death by his brother, Earl and his sister, Esther (“Nita”); by three wives, Lillian, Lavone and Margret; by his son, David; and by his daughter, Estheranne. He is survived by his sister, Gladys Carroll and his two daughters, Eileen Worthen and Enid (Bill) Young; many step-children, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren (including step-children’s offspring whom he always considered to be his family). Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 11:00AM at the Trade Lake Baptist Church with Rev. Andy McDaniel officiating. Music will be provided by organists, Larry Fisk and Barb Kallman and soloist, Gaylen Brown. Pallbearers will be Wally Anderson, Wayne Gustafson, Mark Gustafson, Bryan Malec, Greg Young and Greg Peer; honorary pallbearers will be Keith Wruck, C.A. Quinn and Darwin Brown. Visitation for Stewart will be held on Tuesday, December 1st from 4 to 7PM at the Rowe Funeral Home in Frederic. Visitation will also be held at the church on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and will continue until the service begins. A luncheon will be served following the service and interment will take place at Mud Hen Lake Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Memorials preferred to the Trade Lake Baptist Church, 20750 County Road Z, Frederic, WI 54837.
