Obituary for Vernon J Bille
Vernon Jens Bille died August 2, 2008, at the age of 92 at the United Pioneer Home in Luck, WI. He was born in 1915 in Mercer, ND. In 1939 he moved with his family to Luck, WI, and worked for Thorvald Sorensen as a farm hand. It was at this time he was drafted into the Army, and he served from 1940-1946 during World War II. While stationed at Fort Bening, GA, he was married to Virginia Patton from Kannapolis, NC, on February 22, 1945. He served with occupation forces in Japan and in 1946 was discharged from the military. Upon returning to Luck they purchased a farm which he worked for 49 years until he retired. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; two sons, Byron and Baynard; sister, Clara Diede of Marshfield, WI; brother, Paul Bille and wife Joyce of Luck; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 6th, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peters Lutheran Church, North Luck, with Pastor Mark Hall officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Full military honors will be provided by the Spooner Honors Group at the Luck Village Cemetery following the service. Pallbearers will be members of the American Legion Post 255. Rowe Funeral Home of Luck, WI, was entrusted with arrangements. For assistance call: 715-472-2444
