Obituary for Wayne Stanley Rolstad
Wayne Stanley Rolstad, 66, of Milltown, Wisconsin passed away peacefully at his home on June 25, 2021.
Wayne was born on October 2, 1954 in Granite Falls, Minnesota to Stanley and Mary (McDermeit) Rolstad. He lived in Granite Falls until the age of six years when his family moved to Mora, Minnesota. Wayne graduated from Mora High School in 1973.
Wayne joined the Army in 1974 and was stationed at Ft Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 1975 Wayne married Gloria and they made their home in Manitou Springs, Colorado. Wayne finished his first enlistment and was honorably discharged from the Army. Wayne and Gloria moved back to Minnesota where they were blessed with their first son, Nathan. Wayne reenlisted into military service as a full-time Army Reservist. During this time Wayne and Gloria were blessed with two more sons, Eric and Adam. He retired from military service in 1996 and began working for the State of Wisconsin at the Camp Douglas Boot Camp. After a couple of years he become a Juvenile Probation Agent and then transferred and became an Adult Probation and Parole Agent. Wayne retired from State service in 2014. Soon after, he began working part-time for the Head Start program in Siren, Wisconsin as a School Bus Monitor until the end of the 2021 school year.
Wayne enjoyed volunteering for his sons’ various sports teams. He was the Assistant Coach for his sons’ baseball teams, Head Coach for soccer teams, Head Coach for hockey teams and ultimately becoming the Head Coach for the Sparta High School Hockey team. Wayne regularly volunteered at events held at Bone Lake Lutheran Church including the church’s fair booth at the Polk County Fair.
Wayne was a proud member of the American Legion unit in Luck, Wisconsin.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Mary Rolstad.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gloria; sons, Nathan (Mandy) of Rosemount, MN, Eric (Candace) of Brainerd, MN, and Adam (Sarah) of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Sean, Madelynn, Nolan, Remi Rolstad; and his sister, Marlys (Paul) Javener.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Bone Lake Lutheran Church, 1105 255th Ave, Luck, Wisconsin on Saturday, July 17, 2021. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. following with the service at 11:45 a.m. A luncheon will be provided at the church following the service. Interment with family will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
