Obituary for Paul Q. Snook
Paul Snook, age 89, of Huntington Beach, CA, passed into the arms of his Lord on Friday, October 26, 2007, at the St. Croix Regional Medical Center in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. Paul was born to Absulym and Laura on April 2, 1918, the youngest of five children in Windom, MN. He retired from Boeing Aircraft in California after 30 years of service where he worked as an engineer building the NASA Space Station. He married Mable Kenyon of Clear Lake, SD, on December 26, 1938. To this union 3 children were born. During their marriage they lived in South Dakota, Minnesota, and California. Paul owned a gold claim in Northern California and he enjoyed spending summers there panning and dredging for gold. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, motorcycle riding, dancing, music, bowling, playing cards and spending time with his family. In his final years, he enjoyed traveling from California to spend summers in Luck, Wisconsin, with his daughter, Mary, and son-in-law, Cliff Askov. He was especially fond of sitting on the front porch, enjoying the beauty and peacefulness of Big Butternut Lake. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, parents, siblings and eldest son, Quentin Eugene. He is survived by 2 children, Mary (Cliff) Askov, Steve (Marri) Snook; daughter-in-law, Dolores Snook; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many relatives and friends. A visitation was held Sunday, October 28, at Rowe Funeral Home in Luck, WI. Celebration of life services will be held Thursday, November 1, at Church of Our Fathers, Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress, CA, with Father James Cavanagh officiating. Music will be provided by his great-grandson, Evan Wilson. Casket bearers will be Cliff Askov, Charles W. Snook, Steven Eugene Snook, Brian Askov, Evan Wilson and Shane Lemmer. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetary. Rowe Funeral Home of Luck, Wisconsin, was entrusted with arrangements.
