Obituary for Larry L. Fassett
Larry Fassett was born in Cushing, WI on August 26, 1940 to Luella Mae Fassett and Leland Fassett. Larry spent most of his childhood in the Cushing area and attended Lanesdale School through the 8th grade. Larry graduated from Luck High School in 1959. During High School Larry was very active in athletics as he was part of the Luck Track and Football Teams. He was also a member of the "L" club and FFA Club.
In 1963 Larry enlisted in the United States Army. Larry was stationed at Fort Greeley, Alaska as a Refrigeration Specialist until 1965. Larry spent his last 4 years in the Army reserves and had received a Metal of Good Conduct and was Honorably Discharged in 1969.
After Larry completed his Military service he returned to Luck, WI where he opened his first Refrigeration Company, "Larry's Refrigeration Sales and Service" which he ran successfully for many years. In the mid 1980's Larry and his late brother, Robert Fassett developed and opened what is still today Five Flags Golf Course in Balsam Lake, WI.
Larry was diagnosed with Cancer in 2014 and has since struggled with complications with his health.
Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and all his family and friends. Larry's two greatest loves were his grandsons, Chase and Dylan.
Larry is preceded in death by his mother, Luella Mae Fassett; father, Leland Fassett; and brother, Robert Fassett.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Dana Gleason (Justin Gleason); grandsons, Chase Gleason and Dylan Orme of Montrose, CO; his brother, Roger Fassett of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, Carolyn Fassett of St. Paul, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service with full Military Honors will be held graveside on Monday, October 26th at 10:00 AM at the Luck Village Cemetery. Pastor Ralph Thompson will be officiating. After the service you are invited to join the family at the Oakwood Inn for refreshments and fellowship.
